For years we didn't have any health insurance. The last time I had a check up was when our baby was born...and our "baby" is now 18. I've gone in for things like a wrenched shoulder and a broken toe, but haven't had a "wellness" check in all that time.
Last year we finally had the opportunity to get health insurance so my husband & I decided to get "tip to toes" (actually, I decided; hub ended up in the hospital with a diagnosis of Type 2 diabetes). So I went whole hog: blood tests, mastectomy, colonoscopy, the works. Absolutely everything came back good! Only a touch of high cholesterol, which kind of exploded this year so, for the first time in my life I'm on medication.
All that to say that I'm proud that all of my numbers (cholesterol notwithstanding) were good, even after no wellness checks for 18 years.

I'm genuinely impressed and happy to hear about your positive health results after such a long time without regular wellness checks. It's a testament to your resilience and perhaps some good genetics too! Speaking of health, since you've been so thorough with your check-ups, have you considered eye health as well? It's often overlooked, but just like other aspects of our health, it's important. I came across an interesting article recently about dry eyes and some common causes and remedies. It might be worth a read, especially if you spend a lot of time in front of screens or in dry environments www.healthbenefitstimes.com/the-causes-of-dry-eyes-and-what-you-can-do-about-them/ . It's always good to be informed about these things, don't you think?
